Suspect wanted, 2 arrested in Carbondale shots fired investigation

CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- A Carbondale man is wanted and two others have been arrested in connection to a shots fired investigation.

On February 25, 2021 Carbondale police officers responded to East Sycamore Street for a report of shots fired just after 7:00 p.m. There were no injuries in the incident.

Police later identified the suspect as 27-year-old Jalen Cobb.

While officers were at the scene the suspect's vehicle was located. Officers conducted a traffic stop, but didn't find Cobb. They did located two handguns, one reported stolen, and an illegal amount of cannabis.

Courtney Hunter & JaJuan Smith

Officers arrested Courtney Hunter, 21 of Danville, and JaJuan Smith, 22 of Carbondale, for Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Manufacture/Delivery of Cannabis.

Police are still looking for Jalen Cobb, who is considered armed and dangerous.
