16 new COVID-19 cases in southern Illinois on Sunday

(WSIL) -- Health departments across southern Illinois are reporting 16 new case of COVID-19 on Sunday, March 7, 2021.

Franklin County:

  • Males: one in their 40's

To date, there have been a total of 4,279 laboratory confirmed positives in Franklin county of COVID-19, including 59 deaths. Of those cases, 4,164 have recovered in Franklin county.

Jackson County:

  • Female: one in her twenties
  • Male: one in his forties, one in his fifties, and one in his sixties

Health officials are currently monitoring 41 active cases. Jackson County has had 4,678 cases to date, with 68 related deaths. Of those cases, 4,469 individuals released from isolation, including four Sunday.

Saline County:

  • Female: 1 in their teens, 2 in their 50’s
  • Male: 1 in their 40’s

To date, Saline County has had a total of 2,492 lab confirmed positives, including 48 deaths.

White County:

  • Female: 1 in their 40’s
  • Male: 1 in their 40’s

White County has had a total of 1,709 lab-confirmed positives, including 26 deaths.

Williamson County:

  • Females: one in their 30's and one in their 80's
  • Males: one in their 30's, two in their 40's

To date, there have been a total of 7,106 laboratory confirmed positives in Williamson county of COVID-19, including 116 deaths. Of those positive cases, 6,849 have recovered in Williamson county.

Illinois Department of Public Health:

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,068 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease Sunday, including 14 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,198,335 cases, including 20,763 deaths across the state.

 A total of 3,358,214 vaccines have been administered.
