(WSIL) -- Showers and thunderstorms returned Wednesday after a prolonged dry period.
As that rain moves away this morning, the rain chances will greatly diminish, but not disappear. While most of the day will remain dry, some folks have a small chance at a sprinkle or two this afternoon. Moreover, the chance for rain will return for Friday afternoon and carry us into the weekend. Initial radar estimates put Wednesday's rain totals anywhere between a quarter of an inch to just under an inch and a half.
The rain and our warmer than average temperatures won't last forever as we have drier and cooler days ahead. But until then, I'm tracking our next chance for rain this morning on News 3.
