CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- It's been a cloudy and cool start to the weekend and we have more rain on the way.
A few light showers have popped up this afternoon but continue to be very light and isolated. Most of the region is just staying cloudy and cool. What light rain does pop up will move out through the remainder of the evening.
It'll be a mostly dry night across the area but more rain chances will return by Sunday afternoon. We will wake up dry with a bit of sunshine as we kick off our Sunday but our next wave of energy will bring an increase in cloud cover throughout the day and eventually the chance for showers.
The focus for scattered showers and thunder will be in the afternoon on Sunday before slowly clearing by the evening. If you'll be out and about, it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep an umbrella on standby.
Meteorologist Jacie Brianne will be timing this system tonight on News 3 along with a major cool down.
