WSIL -- A wet and stormy morning, but storms have remained tame for the most part. The main threat is very heavy rain, some lightning, and a few isolated wind gusts up to around 50 miles per hour.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect Thursday until 7 p.m. for parts of southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, and western Kentucky.
Storms will gradually shift to the south and east throughout the day as a cold front drops in from the northwest. Winds will turn to the northwest in the wake of this front and temperatures are likely to dip into the mid 60s by the late afternoon.
Rain wraps up by this evening and sunny skies will return Friday and Saturday and bring afternoon temperatures back into the low to mid 70s.
