Westbound I-24 lanes to close Wednesday night near Big Bay, New Columbia

MASSAC COUNTY (WSIL) -- The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) would like to alert motorists traveling I-24 Westbound of the upcoming Emergency Pavement Patching.

On Wednesday evening, May 5th, the contractor will CLOSE the I-24 WESTBOUND TRAFFIC LANES ONLY from 8:00PM to 6:00AM, from Mile Post 37 to Mile Post 27, to perform pavement patching at Mile Post 29.

Motorists traveling I-24 Westbound should utilize US 45 to IL 145, IL 145 to IL 146, then IL 146 to I-24. Please use alternate routes, reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers and use extreme caution while traveling through all work zones.
