Recent college signings from local HS student athletes

CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- Signing a college scholarship to further their athletic career is an exciting time for our local student athletes. The week of May 3, 2021, the following student athletes signed scholarships:

Carbondale High School:

Faith Halliday signed with McKendree University (NCAA D-2) to play basketball.

Tucker Poshard signed with Tulane to run track (NCAA D-1, New Orleans, LA).

Carterville High School:

Averi Vanderzille signed with SIU volleyball (NCAA D-1).

Jaxon Allen will play football at Rose-Hulman University (Terre Haute, Indiana. NCAA D-3). Jaxon is a Valedictorian, All-Conference defender, NHS President and Team Chaplain.

Jarrett Glenn signed to play baseball at Frontier College (NJCAA).

Pitcher Braden Ingle will compete in baseball at Southwestern Illinois College (NJCAA).

Bryce Anderson was a three-sport athlete at Carterville and will compete in baseball at Rend Lake College (NJCAA).

Pinckneyville High School:

Dre Scott signed with Kaskaskia College (NJCAA) to play basketball. Dre' was team MVP, Coaches' Award winner, leading scorer at 16.7 pts. and rebounder with 6.4 rebounds per game, earned SIRR All-Conference honors for two years.

Catcher Grant Biby will further his education and athletic career by playing baseball at Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois (NAIA).

Massac County High School:

Kyler McIntosh signed with Shawnee College to play basketball (NJCAA).
