MOUNT VERNON, Ill (WSIL) -- For the first time since before the pandemic began, a local historic attraction will reopen.
This weekend, the Jefferson County Historical Village opens for the summer season.
They had to close their doors last May because of COVID-19.
But, starting this weekend, you'll be able to walk around the village and take a look inside at their new exhibits.
"I think it's important for people to have a connection with their past, to see where they came from, to see the work that their ancestors did in getting to where we are now," said the village museum's curator, Lucy Baker.
The village is open 12 to 4 on Saturdays and 1 to 4 on Sundays.
