WSIL -- Brr! It's chilly for May! Temperatures have dipped into the lower 40s, though a few low-lying areas are in the upper 30s!
After a stormy Thursday, Friday will begin with a lot of sunshine!
Temperatures will warm into the mid 60s by noon and likely peak around 70º later this afternoon.
The morning sunshine will begin to fade away as clouds increase later in the day. A weak backdoor cold front could even produce a brief shower or two, mainly near the Wabash River.
More rain is expected Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, showers and occasional rumbles of thunder will be most likely through the morning and early afternoon as a warm front begins to shift north out of the southern Plains.
By Saturday afternoon, rain will be shifting to the northeast and many will see a break.
As the system moves from the Plains into the mid-Mississippi Valley, more rain will spread in on Sunday.
Ugh, Mother's Day is looking like a washout. A few strong storms can't be ruled out.
