(WSIL) -- Thunderstorms roll into the region early Sunday, and linger into the afternoon.
Showers and storms are developing early this morning ahead of a cluster of storms that are quickly progressing through central Missouri. Thunderstorm activity will gradually become more widespread into the dawn hour. This initial cluster of storms will make quick progress through our region by early afternoon. A second round of storms will quickly follow for some in the early afternoon, bringing the best chance at severe weather to places near western Kentucky and the Missouri boot heel.
Damaging winds and small hail remain the biggest concern with these storms, although a tornado or two cannot be ruled out. Stick with the Storm Track 3 team for updates as the day progresses.
