SALINE CO. (WSIL) -- A local non-profit is holding a special fundraiser to support advocacy for abused, neglected and abandoned children.

CASA of Saline County is conducting a shoe drive called "Shoes on a Mission." They're collecting gently worn and new shoes to help bring in funds. The amount of money earned will be based on the total weight of the shoes collected.

"By donating the shoes, it does come back to us in funds so that we can keep our program going and help our children here. We're currently serving around 70 children," explains Trina Weir, Executive Director.

All donated shoes will be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network small business partners. They're accepting men's, women's and children's shoes in any style or season.

You can help by dropping of shoes at any of these locations: First Mid Illinois Bank 2 E Locust St Harrisburg, Country Financial, David Morse 116 N Veterans Dr. Harrisburg or All In One Real Estate 603 N Commercial St Harrisburg, Stephanie’s Salon & Day Spa 5 Veterans Drive Harrisburg, Willow Tree Consignments 835 E Poplar Suite 1 Harrisburg.

The fundraiser will take place May 15 through July 14, 2021.
