WSIL -- Another very wet morning for much of southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. While no severe weather is expected, these storms are LOUD with very heavy rain and quite a bit of lightning.
Localized flash flooding is possible where the strongest storms track.
Storms will slowly track east across southern Illinois through the morning with rain chances gradually going down throughout the afternoon.
As rain clears out by this evening, finally, drier weather will move in.
Sunshine returns Friday and Saturday and the mercury will begin to climb. Lower 80s are likely Friday afternoon with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s by Saturday.
If you need to get caught up on yardwork, you may want to take advantage of the dry weather this weekend. Another big push of moisture will stream out of the Gulf of Mexico next week, settling up more active weather.
