MARION, Ill (WSIL) -- The Boys and Girls Club of Southern Illinois got a $50,000 donation from Southern Illinois Healthcare.

They say it will help with the Fine Arts Center in Marion. The new building houses performing arts, paintings, sculptures, drawings and writings. The CEO of the the Southern Illinois Boys and Girls Club tells News 3 the donation will help finish their renovations and get their doors open.

"It's great, it's really great! Every donation makes a huge difference. Doesn't matter how small or how big. This was a big leap to be closer to that goal," said Tina Carpenter, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club.

Carpenter says they look forward to opening their doors soon.
