Police: No one injured when officers, group exchange gunfire

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Authorities say no one was injured early Thursday when two St. Louis police officers in an unmarked car came under fire from a group of people and returned fire. Television station KSDK reports the shooting happened around 1 a.m. near a gas station at Interstate 70 and Goodfellow Boulevard. Police say the officers observed a group of people arguing at the gas station, which led to a barrage of shots fire. Police say the officers — who weren’t in uniform but were wearing vests marked “POLICE” — got out of their car and announced they were officers. Police say the officers then came under fire and returned fire. While no one was injured, the officers’ car was hit by gunfire.
