ISP investigates fiery crash in Alexander County


ALEXANDER COUNTY (WSIL) -- A head-on collision injures three adults and two children in Alexander County.

Illinois State Police say the driver of vehicle one was traveling northbound on Illinois Route 3, just south of the Union and Alexander County line. Vehicle two was traveling southbound on Illinois Route 3 in the same area

The driver of vehicle one drifted over the lane line and into oncoming traffic and struck vehicle two head-on. Vehicle two then overturned and caught fire.

A passing driver stopped and helped get all four occupants including two adults and two children out of the burning vehicle. All victims were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
