WSIL -- Quite a bit of fog this morning along with a lot of haze. Visibility is down to less than 1 mile in some areas, especially in valleys and near farm fields.
In addition to the fog, wildfire smoke continues to add a lot of haze. In fact, it will likely be the thickest the smoke has been so far.
Despite the haze, temperatures this afternoon will still peak in the upper 80s and humidity will begin nudging the heat index up into the 90s.
High pressure builds in from the west as the heat dome expands this weekend. This will bring temperatures into the 90s by Saturday and Sunday and push the heat index into the triple digits.
Sunday afternoon, the heat index could approach 105º.
As humidity climbs, so will the rain chances. By Monday, the door opens for scattered storms.
