WSIL -- Fairly pleasant this morning with slightly lower humidity, which has allowed temperatures to drop back into the mid to upper 60s.
If you need to get outdoor work done over the next few days, consider doing them during the morning to beat the heat.
While humidity remains tolerable this afternoon, sunny skies will push temperatures once again into the lower 90s.
Humidity begins to creep back in tonight. This will push the heat index Wednesday and Thursday into dangerous territory.
Wednesday afternoon, temperatures will be in the lower 90s, with a heat index around 100. By Thursday, those temperatures climb into the mid 90s with a heat index as high as 105º.
The heat wave is short-lived. By Friday, slightly cooler air will begin filtering in, and also bring a chance for a few storms.
